Rowan Waller was born in a state that identified as both “southern” and “midwestern” — Oklahoma. She left the state at 18, seeking her true identity and soon created a career in the outdoor climbing industry. Still, she finds herself forever drawn back to her roots  and often analyzes her complex upbringing through writing. Her poetry has appeared previously in literary journals such as: The Owen Wister Review, The Palouse Review, Catfish Creek, The Albion Review, Nimrod International Journal, The Tulsa Voice, and Moon Shadow Sanctuary Press, among others. Additionally, her work is forthcoming in the February edition of the Eunoia Review.
