Tara Shea Burke is a queer poet from the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. She teaches writing and poetry at VCU and the Visual Arts Center of Richmond, and studies accessible strength training interwoven with mindfulness practices. She’s been an editor and contest judge, a board member and grants coordinator, and hustled in restaurants for 20 years. Her work has recently been published in Shenandoah Literary, Khôra, Southern Humanities Review, and Queer Nature, an anthology from Autumn House Press.
