I cried three times, at least, reading the works in this issue. Sitting in a cubicle at a job I left two weeks ago, I would sneak some time to read the new submissions as they came in. I read Ed Madden’s “Playlist” right after the second issue came out and I knew the third issue was going to be something special. The words in these works didn’t go straight to my head though, they lingered in my mouth like strawberry juice and communion wine before registering in my brain what I was really reading. They soaked for a good while just on the tip of my senses. This issue came at a much needed time when I needed to feel so many different things all at once–and it delivered. Everything that we are publishing today is absolute gold and we are intensely grateful to have these works associated with Screen Door. Enjoy.
