Jay Butler (he/him/they) is a poet and writer from the foothills of Appalachia. He earned his MA/MFA in creative writing at Portland State University, where he was the recipient of an Academy of American Poets Award. Poetry has been featured in Poets.org, Fourteen Hills, RHINO, Bat City Review, Still: the journal, among other literary outlets; and his critical work can be found in Annulet: A Poetics Journal, and the Rumpus. His first poetry collection termOil is forthcoming from Querencia Press and he is currently a PhD candidate in English at Duke University.
