I am the author of two books of poetry. My collection, Rare Earth, was awarded the 2012 Many Voices Project and was published by New Rivers Press in 2013, and my second collection, What the Night Numbered, was selected by Peter Campion as the winner of the 2014 Trio Award and was published by Trio House Press in 2015. My poetry and fiction have appeared in such periodicals as The Atlantic Monthly, North American Review, The American Scholar, as well as in Best American Short Stories 2008. I currently teach at Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln. Although I currently reside in Nebraska, I was born in and spent much of my youth and adult life in Tennessee.
